Pastoral Associate Sr. Clarita Schumacher and her Ministers of Care are available to provide solace and support during the most challenging times in life:  sickness, divorce, isolation, old age, loss of a loved one, and death.  Please call Sr. Clarita if you are in need of support or are interested in obtaining more information about the Senior Socialites, the Parish Grief Group, the Divorce & Beyond Support Group, Hospital Visitation, or the Homebound & Nursing Home Ministry.

Sister Clarita would like to invite any senior citizen in the parish to join the Senior Socialites, who meet the second Thursday of every month from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. in Meeting Room 1 for an afternoon of socializing, good food, stimulating conversation, and prayer.
A Divorce & Beyond Support Group is designed for men and women who are already divorced or who have filed for divorce.  This group will help people through the journey of initial stress, anger and guilt, to ultimate forgiveness, happiness and growth.

HOMEBOUND & NURSING HOME MINISTRY
Parishioners who are homebound or in nursing homes can arrange to have Communion brought to them.

ELMHURST HOSPITAL VISITATION
Ministers of Care visit hospital patients to bring Communion during their hospital stay.  Ministers are asked to arrange for a substitute if they cannot make it to the hospital on their regular date.

Sr. Clarita initiates parish contact and outreach at the time of death by coordinating the Mass of Christian Burial with the family, attending the wake visitation, and maintaining contact with the family during the difficult months after the funeral.  The deceased are also remembered during an Evening of Remembrance on All Souls Day in November.

Any adult who is experiencing grief due to the loss of a loved one is cordially invited to attend the Parish Grief Support Group during this most difficult time.  This group meets the first and third Thursdays of the month from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. in Meeting Room 1.
